The City of Evarts would like to first start out by saying we appreciate everyone’s continued patience!

The City of Evarts would like to first start out by saying we appreciate everyone’s continued patience! We had a well issue at the end of last week that resulted in decreased flows on the raw water intake. We were assuming it was a pump issue but discovered the well was drying up in comparison to normal levels. After having the well deepened and cased to 300’ and dropping new piping and pump, the problem still persisted. However, we have found and fixed several leaks the past 4 days that may compensate for the lost raw water intake that will allow the demand to be met. This will take a couple of days to get water back to everyone in our system and BMUD’s system. We are doing all we can in collaboration with assistance from our Magistrate, the County Judge Executive’s office, Black Mountain Utility District and the Kentucky Division of Water. We are working to resolve the issues ASAP! Thank you and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Evarts Water Plant at (606) 837-3232.
