U.S. Rep. Harold “Hal” Rogers (KY-05) expressed strong support for Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a joint session of Congress on Wednesday. Congressman Rogers greeted Netanyahu on the House Floor.

“America’s support for Israel must remain ironclad. We cannot waver in our partnership with our strongest ally in the Middle East,” said Congressman Rogers, Dean of the House. “Our history is marked with peace, defending freedom and standing firm against all acts of terrorism and tyranny.”

Netanyahu expressed his gratitude for America’s support following the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. He described the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel and the United States as “a clash between those who glorify death and those who sanctify life.”

“For the forces of civilization to triumph, Israel and America must stand together,” said Netanyahu. “Whenever and wherever we see the scourge of antisemitism, we must unequivocally condemn it and resolutely fight it, without exception."

House Republicans have repeatedly shown their support for Israel through legislation such as the Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2023, continued funding for U.S.-Israeli cooperative missile defense programs, and passing the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2024.
