U.S. Rep. Harold "Hal" Rogers (KY-05), also known as the Dean of the House, is set to resume his duties on Capitol Hill next week after recovering from a car accident. Dr. Brian P. Monahan, Attending Physician for the U.S. Congress, stated that Rogers is "recovering very well with continued physical therapy" and will gradually return to his responsibilities.

Rogers, a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, expressed his determination to get back to work for the people of Kentucky's Fifth Congressional District. He credited his Appalachian background for providing him with the resilience and determination to overcome adversity. Rogers stated, "When times get tough, we get tougher - and it’s that Appalachian inspiration from back home that is driving me through this recovery to get back to Capitol Hill for our people."

Despite his recovery process, Rogers assured his constituents that his service to them will not be hindered. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming month, where critical issues such as the nation's border crisis and finalizing federal funding bills before the March deadlines need to be addressed. Rogers expressed gratitude towards his medical team and the prayers from across the country, stating that he is "moving full steam ahead."
