U.S. Rep. Harold “Hal” Rogers (KY-05), Dean of the House, is currently undergoing physical rehabilitation to aid in his recovery from a back injury sustained in a car accident. According to Dr. Brian P. Monahan, Attending Physician for the U.S. Congress, Congressman Rogers has shown satisfactory progress and has been released from the in-patient hospital.

In a statement, Congressman Rogers expressed his gratitude for the support and well wishes he has received from people across the country. He mentioned that he will be wearing a back brace occasionally for a few weeks and will continue with physical therapy to regain strength. His goal is to return to work as soon as possible.

While he focuses on his recovery, Congressman Rogers has been actively staying in touch with his staff and colleagues. He has been having daily calls and in-person meetings with his team to ensure that the offices continue to serve the people of Kentucky’s Fifth District effectively. He has also been in contact with Speaker Johnson and other Republican leaders to discuss upcoming votes and finalize federal funding bills.

Congressman Rogers' work in Washington and his efforts to serve his constituents in Kentucky can be found on his official website, halrogers.house.gov, and through his social media accounts.

The Congressman's accident serves as a reminder of the risks that public servants face while carrying out their duties. The outpouring of support and prayers for his recovery demonstrates the high regard in which Congressman Rogers is held by his constituents and colleagues alike. As he progresses through rehabilitation, he remains committed to his responsibilities and to the people he serves.
