U.S. Rep. Harold "Hal" Rogers (KY-05), Dean of the House, is in good condition after being involved in a car accident in the DC area on Wednesday evening. The Attending Physician of the United States Congress, Dr. Brian P. Monahan, has been closely monitoring Congressman Rogers' health.

"The Chairman was admitted to the hospital for observation. He is in good condition and his doctors are working closely with him," said Dr. Monahan.

Congressman Rogers expressed his gratitude towards the first responders and medical team who have taken care of him. Despite his hospitalization, he remains committed to serving the people of Southern and Eastern Kentucky.

"I'm thankful for the first responders and medical team who have thoroughly cared for me. I'm avidly following doctor's orders, while also working with my staff to ensure serving the people of Southern and Eastern Kentucky remain the first priority," said Congressman Rogers, who also serves as Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice, and Science.

In addition to his recovery, Congressman Rogers' legislative staff is working closely with House leadership and the House Appropriations Committee in preparation for upcoming fiscal deadlines.
