Census Bureau: 2.9% of people in Bell County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 24,674 citizens living in Bell County in 2021, 97.1% said they were only one race, while 2.9% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Bell County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 94.7% or 23,374 individuals. Following them, African American accounted for 2.1% and totaled 521 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Bell County is 0.6% lower than the state average, which stands at 3.5%.
