Turner lands on Bevo Francis top-50 list
One month after landing on the Bevo Francis Top-100 Watch List, Turner made the cut when the list was shrunk down to 50, it was announced Wednesday afternoon. It marked a step up for Turner, who also made the Top-100 list in 2022, but did not secure a position in the Top 50.
The list is compiled by the Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee, which makes selections from a pool of over 15,000 athletes. Consideration is given to players based on "season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements."
Turner is averaging 19 points per game this season and just recently scored his 2,000th career point. He is the top scorer on a Union team that is currently 25-1 and holds a No. 3 ranking in the NAIA.
Bevo Francis will reveal its top-25 players on March 15. Finalists will be announced April 1 with a winner being declared April 3.
