College3

University of the Cumberlands issued the following announcement on Feb. 20

University of the Cumberlands is pleased to host singer-songwriter Andrew Peterson on campus during his Resurrection Letters tour. Peterson will be speaking in Gatliff Chapel on March 5 at 8:30 p.m. following a concert at 6:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, located at 217 South 5th Street in Williamsburg.

Peterson is a singer, songwriter, and novelist based out of Nashville, TN, who uses music to awaken listeners to the beauty of life through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His music career spans almost 24 years and includes more than a dozen albums, including most recently Behold the Lamb of God, a concept album created in tandem with 30 other artists; Resurrection Letters, Volumes 1 and 2; and The Burning Edge of Dawn. Peterson is the author of the award-winning children’s fantasy book series The Wingfeather Saga.

Peterson will be speaking at Cumberlands as part of their campus ministries’ “The Gospel &” series events. The series consists of monthly discussion panels which present to audiences what the Bible has to say about hot-button topics such as dating, racism, politics, and other cultural issues. As an established musician and writer, Peterson will offer students insight into what Scripture says about the arts.

Admission into Gatliff Chapel for the Gospel & series event is free and open to community members. Tickets for the concert at Cornerstone preceding the “Gospel &” event may be purchased on iTickets.com.
